Friday Morning Update: the river level is still about a foot or more above summer level, that means that it is over seawalls, and piers. The ground is very saturated and will need several days of sun to dry out enough that we can let campers be set back up. Also if you had items that were not tied up you might want to come up and see if you can find them. I have seen at least two canoes in the slough. We will continue to close the gate at around 7pm each night and reopen it by 8am. If you have any questions please let me know.

Thursday 9am update: the water has gone down probably as much as a foot, but it still has us flooded or most of the campground under water. They are trying to take as much off of us as they can, but we can't seem to catch a break in the rainfall, as of this morning we have measured at the campground 13.25" of rain which is almost double our normal for month of May, and we have rain coming down. Once again the gate will close tonight at around 7pm and open tomorrow morning around 8am.

7PM update: Logan Martin is dumping 56,686 cfs while Neely Henry has dropped down to 37,422 cfs. Since the last update we gave at 2pm Logan Martin has increased the flow by 4033 cfs, while Neely Henry has dropped the amount coming out by 14,479 cfs. It will take some time for the level to drop. Please note the gate is locked until further notice at 7pm roughly each evening and will open around 7am each morning . Please do not reset your camper if you moved without contacting us. Thanks

2PM update: As of 2PM, the flow of water out of Logan Martin dam was 52,653 cfs and at Neely Henry it is 51,901 cfs, which means that now more is flowing out than is being let in so hopefully the water will not come up much more, if any. This is good news. For safety and security of everyone's property, we will lock the gate this evening around 7pm and then reopen in the morning around 7am. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Kyle 205-915-2609.

8:45 am. We are here at the campground now and over the last hour water levels have risen about three inches. Flood gates are open at the dam at Neely Henry so use your own judgement as to your property. The road at the boat launch is under water. This is the view from our camper. An hour ago it was not on our concrete at all.

Good Wednesday morning, well overnight they did increase the flood gate flow out of Neely Henry and when I first checked this morning around 6am we were behind by at about 4000 cubic feet per second, and as a result we had seen a rise in the water level. As I write this at 7:30am things have changed in the last hour and so hopefully we will start to see a decrease in the water later today. I will be monitoring and let you know if it comes up any more but please remember it is your judgement on your personal property.

Current Details on the flow for those that want to know.
Downtown Gadsden natural flow has 37400 cubic feet per second; Southside bridge natural flow 37700 cubic feet per second that means that the flow up stream is slowing down. Neely Henry is putting 39547 cubic feet per second into Logan Martin a combination of generators 24267 and flood gates of 15280. Meanwhile Logan Martin is taking out 43189 cubic feet per second a combination of 20250 through generators and 22939 through floodgates. So as of right now we are 3642 cubic feet per second more taken out than being put in, but remember at 6am this morning it was right the opposite so overnight after 10pm to 7am having 4000+ more put on Logan Martin.

Update at 7:00pm
Overall the river has come up about 2 to 3 inches in the last 3 hours at the campground, flows continue to be about the same . We are seeing an increase in the Gadsden flow which determines everything right now they are still able to handle it without major opening of the gates which is good. If we don't get anymore rain I would ancipate the level being about what we experience earlier in May.

Update at 5:00pm
Logan Martin was releasing 37700 cubic feet per second
Neely Henry was releasing 25600 cubic feet per second
Gadsden Natural flow was 21400 cubic feet per second
*Note the Neely Henry has to stay at or aboce the Gadsden Natural river flow. As you can see right now they are getting more through Neely Henry than the flow at Gadsden but the difference has decreased in the last 3 hours and they have opened the flood gate at Neely slightly 600 cubic feet per second.

Good Tuesday afternoon, wanted to post an update on the river for all our campers. We have received a tremendous amount of rain in the last over 24 hours, with 1.5 inches since just midnight. As a result of the already saturated ground we have seen lots of runoff at 2:30pm the water is over Deanas Cove when you turn off 144. It is about 3 inches above summer pool level with all the piers underwater. In looking at Neely Henry, Logan Martin and Gadsden it seems they are managing the flow really good. It is possible that we will see a rise to the level of about a week ago which is close to where action needs to be taken. I would suggest that you monitor the Alabama Power Shoreline app and as long as there is more being taken out of Logan Martin than is being put in at Neely Henry we should be okay. I will continue to monitor and give updates. As always our information is not official and is just meant to give you an idea, use your own judgement in taking precautions for your personal property.

FYI at 2:30pm
Logan Martin was releasing 37700 cubic feet per second
Neely Henry was releasing 25200 cubic feet per second
Gadsden Natural flow was 17100 cubic feet per second

TUESDAY MORNING:
River as gone down to near normal summer level.

UPDATE 9:15pm
The water has started going down it looks to be dropping at a good rate. From what I’ve read from Shoreline and other sources it should crest tomorrow at the dam, so we probably crested this afternoon. Hopefully we can get a break from the rain.

Afternoon update at 6:30pm. With all the flooding rains weve had the past several days the river is out of the banks and all piers are underwater. We are hopeful that the river will level out by tomorrow. This is the view off my patio.

Good Tuesday morning I wanted to make sure all our folks knew about the possible heavy rains over the next few days. The latest information I see is that we are under a flood watch. Right now we are on the border line for the possible higher amounts up to 5". Please monitor the weather and make your on personal decisions regarding your property, also keep in mind that there are predictions for severe weather on Wednesday and if the rain comes quickly coupled with severe weather that might impact you. We will update as we can here but please understand the river can rise quickly in these situations.
