New addition to the farm corral! 🐐
Meet Helen, a miniature Nigerian rescue goat. This moment captures her first introduction to her new herd mates. She’s rearing up on her hind legs to make it very clear that she’s bigger (and braver) than she looks!

Helen is a bit timid right now due to limited human contact and having lived alone, but she’s young, energetic, and curious. We’re confident she’ll settle in quickly and thrive now that she gets to live alongside other goats. Welcome home, Helen 💚

Breakfast harvest this morning 🌿🍊🌺

First taste of this year’s macadamias (that first crack never gets old),
beautiful Carissa cherries — small, glossy landscaping bushes with jasmine-scented flowers
and fruit that taste like a blend of cranberry and plum —
plus buttery, melt in your mouth sapote with the very last of our tangalolos.

That vivid pink Guatemalan 3 dragon fruit is a show-off in the best way —
gorgeous blooms, brilliant color, and as easy to propagate as any cactus.
Stick a piece in soil and it’s off to the races. 🌵💗

Farm breakfasts don’t get fresher than this — gathered, cracked, and sliced
right outside the kitchen door.

Silverado (left) seems to have fully recovered from his Labor Day heat stroke and is happily enjoying the perfect October weather with his favorite goat, Gabby. We moved the goats down to join our alpacas and it’s been great for both the goats and alpacas. Gabby rarely leaves Silverado’s side.

From the back garden deck of our Bunny Hill Farmstay. Anyone know what kind of bird this is? There’s often a barn owl that sits up there, so I was surprised to see this guy has taken the owl’s usual perch this morning.
