JOLLY KNAVE MESSAGE
LISTEN UP KNAVE FAMILY! THIS YOU DON'T WANT TO MISS.

No, it's not a new s**g song nor a birthday wish. This post is about a very serious matter that's about to happen to OUR Atlantic Beach ocean front and boardwalk.

I'm referring to the proposed boardwalk renovations and landside construction of a so called "Pavilion". I've attached a few images of the proposed design which, in my view and many other's view, is nowhere close to what we envisioned would emerge as a Pavilion facility from the winner of the design competitions.
Having said that, let me make this perfectly clear. I don't intend to throw the Council members who voted to approve this under the bus. They are my friends.

But I do want to bring to the forefront some additional ideas that they may not have considered which would better embrace the history, culture and flavor of Atlantic Beach that all of us who have lived here or have spent a large percent of their lives here have enjoyed.

Right now, the purpose of this post is to raise your awareness to what's happening, begin a dialogue among us, gather your reactions to the current proposals and support for a better plan. Here is the link to the winning proposal. IT'S A MUST READ.

Good morning Everyone. Although I used to start my day listening to this song by Nickelback, I still call it up once in a while. Just wanted to add this to Lonnie's great Drifter selections. Often at the Raleigh Knave, Jeppy McDowell and Susan Blackwell could tear this song up. They were so pretty to watch and the only ones I ever saw that could do a true "double fly-back". I know Jeppy is working at a hotel in NMB and Susy has left us. Does anyone else remember them from that era.?
