We’re excited to announce that The Peak Motel + Bite Club PNW are hosting BOUNCE & REFUEL during Memorial Day Flea Market weekend in the parking lot at The Packwood Station 🎉

We’ll have a giant bounce house, hydration station, snacks, and family fun all weekend while supporting Livable Packwood ❤️

April at Mount Rainier is a little unpredictable.

You might be hiking in a T-shirt at lower elevations…
and looking at snow higher up the same day.

Meanwhile in Elbe, there are Easter trains running.
Spring skiing at Crystal Mountain Resort and White Pass.
A fishing derby at Mineral Lake.
And early signs that summer events aren’t that far off.

It’s still winter on the mountain with 100 inches of snow at Paradise! Backcountry enthusiasts and winter campers should carry the Winter Ten Essentials and know how to use them. Advanced planning and preparation are keys to surviving Mount Rainier's often harsh winter conditions.

1. Shovel (avalanche rescue, emergency shelter/dig a snow cave)
2. Full Length Insulated Sleeping Pad
3. Stove & Fuel (melt water)
4. Heat Packs
5. Goggles & Wool/Pile Hat
6. Gloves (base/mid/shell layers)
7. Avalanche Transceiver
8. Avalanche Probe
9. Ability to assess mountain weather and avalanche hazards
10. Map, Compass, & GPS (with extra batteries)
