Our latest property, Birch & Loon, has plenty of indoor fun for those cozy evenings after a day of skiing at Saddleback or hiking the Rangeley trails. There is nothing better than warming up in the infrared sauna or a little friendly competition at the full-size Pac-Man arcade game or foosball table! It’s the ultimate way to thaw out and connect after for another day in the Maine woods.

There is something about waking up to a view of Rangeley Lake that just resets the soul. I love how the light pours into this living room at our Birch & Loon property, making it the perfect spot to enjoy a coffee and plan the day’s adventures. This space is designed to be a true home base where you can relax after a day of exploring the trails or browsing the shops on Main Street.

While skiing the mountain gets a lot of the glory, I'm not much of a skier. Chris and I often find ourselves heading deep into the woods on snowshoes. There is a stillness in the Rangeley air during winter that you just can't find anywhere else.

The average high in Rangeley in October is around 52 degrees. So, if you're planning on visiting this month, make sure you pack a jacket, but also a good pair of hiking boots! The trails are still beautiful, and with the cooler temps, you can go for a nice long walk without getting too hot.

The sunsets are getting earlier now, but the colors are as intense as ever! I captured this photo from the dock that Sunset and Getaway Cabins share. Every sunset is different, and each one is a perfect end to the day. I'm grateful to have the opportunity to see them.
