Congratulations Saddleback!!!

🚨 BIG NEWS ALERT! 🚨

Saddleback has officially ranked #2 in the Top Ski Resorts on the East coast and #4 in North America according to readers! After being voted “Best Ski Mountain” in Maine by 3 years in a row and “Best of New England” by NE Ski Journal, we’re so proud to share our mountain with you all—no secrets here!

Our mountain vibes are simple: snow, woods, and you. ❄️🌲 As one SKI Mag reader put it, “Old-school vibes. No flashy hotels. Just snow, woods, and you. I love it here and will definitely return.”

We’re so grateful to you, the Saddleback community, for your endless support. This recognition is the fuel we need to keep making this mountain the best it can be. Whether you’re a longtime Saddlebacker or planning your first visit, now is the time to experience the mountain everyone’s talking about.

Looking for a good read? 📖🌲 Loving The North Woods, 25 Years of Historic Conservation in Maine is now online! Congratulations to our colleague, Karin Tilberg, the author.

Those who treasure forests, own forestland, recreate in the Maine woods, participate in forest-related industries, study woodland ecology, and/or recognize the global importance of Maine forests for carbon sequestration and migratory birds will find this an informative and inspirational conservation chronicle. So too will people who love Maine history.

“Karin has dedicated much of her personal and professional life to protecting Maine’s gems. . . Karin’s love of Maine, its people, its landscapes and its plants and animals, is contagious. From her first backpacking trip in the North Woods to canoe trips down its rivers to contentious meetings about the region’s future . . . Karin takes us on her journey of discovery and stewardship.” - Susan Young, Opinion Editor Bangor Daily News

Labor Day weekend is here and the unofficial start of Fall in the Rangeley Lakes Region. 🍂 It's time to hop in the car and explore the Rangeley Lakes National Scenic Byway. The byway passes through a region with over 200,000 acres of conserved public access lands, much of which is stewarded by Rangeley Lakes Heritage Trust.

📍Smalls Falls - scenic waterfall views and swimming holes. Located off Route 4 in Sandy River.
