Okay Rapid City friends… we cannot let the little free library at Storybook Island sit empty. 🥺📚

If you’ve got gently loved picture books collecting dust on a shelf, this is your sign to pass them along to a new little reader. There’s something pretty special about a book getting loved by kid after kid. 💛🌈

A few books from a lot of people could fill those shelves back up fast.

Okay, this is officially on my Black Hills summer adventure list 😂🔥🛸

Firehenge opens TODAY near Kadoka, and it looks wonderfully weird in the best possible way. Roadside Americana meets aliens meets firetrucks? Count me in.

This is exactly the kind of quirky stop that makes exploring South Dakota so much fun.

What started as a wild idea (that was mostly a joke) sitting around a conference table during a marketing meeting is now an insane reality out near Badlands National Park. 🤯

Stacked firetrucks, a smokejumper airplane, fire hydrants arranged as a peace sign, and aliens—all come together to create this beautifully insane roadside attraction. 🛸

Firehenge officially opens tomorrow, Saturday, May 23rd, just outside Kadoka! 🎉
- Open Daily from 9 AM – 6 PM
- Admission is $10 per vehicle
- Bonus! Every vehicle entry includes a ticket for a free t-shirt, redeemable at Firehouse Mercantile in Rapid City (sizes available not guaranteed).
- We are Dog-Friendly! Dogs must be kept on a leash, and you must pick up after your pet. P**p bag stations and trash cans are located throughout the park! 💩🐾

There’s something truly special about experiencing the Black Hills after sunset 🌲✨

If you’re visiting the area this summer, this would be such a memorable evening to add to your trip. Watching a film under the stars at Mount Rushmore just feels like one of those classic Black Hills experiences you never forget 🇺🇸🌌

The new amphitheater film “Voices of America” officially debuts Friday night at 9 PM!

One of my favorite things about living here is how many unique experiences there are beyond the daytime sightseeing. The Black Hills have a magic all their own after dark 💛

✨ Heads up, visitors! ✨
Starting this Friday, our Visitor Center and Information Center building hours will shift to 8:00 AM–10:00 PM for the summer season.
And even more exciting… Friday marks the first evening program of the year, where we will officially debut our brand-new Amphitheater film "Voices of America"!

The program begins at 9 pm!

Join us for an unforgettable evening experience under the stars. ✨
