It's crazy that people live life to harass businesses and people so much that they create fake Facebook accounts, stalk people on other pages all in order to continue to talk crap at a campground they're supposedly or are actual members of.

The MAJORITY OF THE ACTUAL PAYING members are HAPPY that this campground is getting cleaned up. We are happy that they are getting rid of the non payers that have been living in the campground and foreclosures are finally being done. The properties that were foreclosed on owed OVER $1.7 Million to our campground.

These people spread so many lies on social media and make this campground sound like it's nothing but drama here. We have a lot of great members here, the ONLY people causing the drama is a handful and one in particular that harrasses this business is not even a member here.

They continue to trash talk Tina and her business. Four Winds Club Inc hasn't paid a dime to her or her business. They think their thoughts are reality when it's actually defamation. They have been talking this talk for nearly 5 years pretty much the same individuals every single day. The bankruptcy they talk about they know nothing about how that works or types of bankruptcies that a business can file. They want to restructure the campground which will actually help the campground financially. The last meeting we had they discussed this with the members that showed up to the meeting and the majority of those members agreed with that. These people have destroyed the name four winds campground on social media so bad. We need to fix that. They portray they love this place, how do you chase off potential customers by talking crap about a place you supposedly love? If you love it so much, why destroy its reputation online? You know there is always Indian Acres you can go to because we seriously have had enough of your social media crap.

Some of these individuals posting their lots are disgusting and trashy and the majority of the good paying members are sick of their garbage. They have a lot of time on their hands to trash talk a place they won't leave, it'd be nice if they spent their time cleaning their places up. They seem to forget this is a campground not a junk yard. This is supposed to be for recreational use not pile up trash all over the place.

I think a page needs created so people see who these people are that are creating these pages, posts, commenting and pictures of their camping lots in what their places look like in here. I think the page needs to also show some of their criminal records which is public record which any of you can look them up. Please do!!!!!

We hope the one business owner that got his business trashed on social media by a person that he never worked for sues the crap out of that person. Hopefully karma bites that person rather sooner than later.

We've sat back for some time now just watching the situation on social media and the crap show these people have created for the past 5 years. In the past 5 years these individuals have done nothing for this campground but bring down morale with all their rumors, lies and social media crap. Which also brings our property values down, we are invested financially and personally here. We love this campground and a lot of us have been here for double digit years. We have a getaway from every day life to spend time with our family and friends to hang out and just camp.

Would you be upset if you owned deeded property in a campground and it was getting cleaned up? Abandoned lots that cause a danger no longer a danger to other members and children. People who owe the campground thousands of dollars totaling of $8 or $9 Million finally being foreclosed on. These people who don't pay created this financial mess but they blame everyone else instead of looking in the mirror, but then again it's easier to blame others vs your own failure.

Four Winds Campground is actually a beautiful campground. They have a lot to offer and a lot of us are happy that trails are being made to ride 4 wheelers and side by sides. The only drama for the most part is on social media. The new people who have been coming in are loving they have a place to ride locally vs having to drive out of state. They are working on trails, they even have volunteers helping make trails. Drown out their crazy noise and if you like riding 4 wheelers and ATVs, camping whether tent or camper it's actually a nice not so crowded campground. We do have a lot of very friendly members here and yes there are a handful of harrassers that attack on social media being keyboard warriors is what we call them. Pay them no mind because life is short and they will never change being who they are. It's a pathetic sad life they are living while the rest of us enjoy having fun!!!

The sweetgum tree. American liquidambar.

The tree that makes you say words in the yard your
kids shouldn't hear. Every fall. When 15,000 spiky
seed balls cover every square inch of your lawn,
sidewalk, driveway, and patio.

They're a rolled ankle waiting to happen. They
destroy bare feet. They clog mower blades. They
refuse to decompose. They are, arguably, the most
hated tree product in America.

But before you call the arborist to cut it down:

Sweetgum trees are one of the most valuable native
hardwoods in North America.

They provide:
Brilliant fall color — reds, oranges, purples, yellows.
No other native tree matches the color intensity.
Critical bird habitat — 28 species of birds eat
sweetgum seeds. Goldfinches, chickadees, juncos,
sparrows feed on them all winter.
Timber value — sweetgum wood is commercially valuable.
A mature tree is worth $500-2,000 to a sawmill.
Carbon sequestration — large, fast-growing native
tree absorbs significant CO2.
Native ecosystem support — evolved with local fauna
for millions of years.

And those spiky balls?
Excellent drainage material in the bottom of container
gardens (instead of rocks).
Natural mulch pathway material.
Craft material (wreaths, painted decorations).
Birds use them for seed access.

Alternative to cutting down:
Sterile/fruitless sweetgum varieties exist —
'Rotundiloba' produces NO seed balls. Plant this
variety if you want the tree without the fruit.
Injection treatments can reduce seed production.
Regular raking/blowing is tedious but manageable.

The tree your feet hate is the tree your ecosystem
needs.

Consider the fruitless variety next time. But don't
cut down the one you have.

The goldfinches need those balls more than you need
bare feet.

If you find a tick on your leg. Before you pull it off — look at it for ten seconds. The species tells you what to watch for.

Three ticks, three sizes, three different stories.

The blacklegged tick is tiny — nymph stage is the size of a poppy seed, dark brown, almost invisible against skin. She's the one most people call a deer tick, and she's the one connected to Lyme. Attachment time matters. If she wasn't embedded long, the risk drops.

The American dog tick is larger — watermelon-seed size, brown with a pale shield behind the head. Different species, different concerns. If you develop a fever within two weeks of removing one, tell your doctor which tick it was.

The lone star tick has a single bright white dot on her back. She's the aggressive one — she runs toward you instead of waiting on a blade of grass. She's the one connected to alpha-gal, the meat sensitivity that starts with a tick bite.

🐾 Removal — do this part right:

- Fine-tipped tweezers, grip as close to the skin as possible.
- Pull straight up with steady pressure. Don't twist. Don't squeeze the body.
- Skip the match, nail polish, and Vaseline — those are myths that delay removal.
- Put the tick in a sealed bag with a damp paper towel. Write the date and the location on your body.

If anything changes in the next thirty days — fever, rash, joint pain, a ring around the bite — bring the bag to your doctor.

The ten seconds you spend looking now tells you what to watch for later 🌿
