When yyu want to give up. Don't.

I put my phone down, took a long drink of Tetley Tea and rubbed my temples. That last statement was part of call number four. Four angry people. Four people who had hit their limit. Four people who had one thing in common.

Being forced into silence when you have been wounded is a re-wounding. You must have a place to tell your story

Such is the result of a smear campaign. The brutal lies of those who have a self determined case for revenge. The best way to hurt someone who has refused to bow to a demand is to convince others that refusal was born of a deeply ingrained character flaw. It took only gathering a circle of three to....

Scapegoating has become the way of not only families and communities, but the church. those who are destroyed by it can find peace and new life,. The key is being heard, believed and loved.

“I swear to you it was all lies. I did not do what they said. I swear I didn’t.” The words came out as if squeezed out of a balloon held by a clown. The sound grated on her own ears, so she bit her lip. I could see the tears falling on the backs of her hands. I understood completely. I said no...

Superhero, Anyone?

That little unconventional community changed a life, it made it not only better, but through belonging, sweet. How? They went and found him in the midst of the mess he had made—and that was no easy task. It was hard. It took sacrifice. It was downright painful at times. It forced the upbraiding of...

Like the fall trimming, the work of change is tedious and sometimes hard. But when it is complete, the newness is worth it all!

Finding ways to help people grieve, release hurt and anger, let go of the dream that came crashing down on them and find a new journey is never an easy thing. With churches being caught at all kinds of unscrupulous actions, how do we know who to trust? How do we find a safe place?

“I don’t know who to trust.” I hear this every single day. I sat in my leather recliner, sipping my favorite coffee from my favorite cup. It is soon to be too hot for such a luxury, but for the moment it’s still 63 when I rise. I set my cup aside and closed my eyes against the struggle. I ha...
