Good morning, Looking at the video, it’s hard to believe this bright wall of color started out as nothing more than a freshly turned plot of dirt and a few neat lines of string. I planted a mix of Skyscraper, Red Sun, Solar Power, Evening Sun, and Mammoth Russian sunflowers—hoping for a good yield, but getting a full-blown sunflower forest instead! There’s something special about watching a patch of bare ground turn into a towering canopy of deep reds and glowing golds that stretches right up past the eaves. It’s easily been one of the most rewarding spots to step out and enjoy every day. 🌻

Every year, June paints the Black Creek property in the brightest, most vibrant colors imaginable. From the classic red roses climbing high to the soft pink peonies catching the morning sun, there is an effortless elegance to the grounds right now. We often get asked about the history of our home. It was originally built in 1888 for Frank and Rose Mixer, and we are only the fifth family to call this estate home in 138 years!
We’ve loved turning this colonial farmhouse back into a B&B. Whether you’re visiting from out of town or looking for a local "staycation," we have plenty of room for you. We sleep 8 guests across 4 beautiful rooms, and we’ll have a hot, hearty breakfast waiting for you when you wake up.
