A little story from the loft. This is one of those things some people on the internet didn’t like - specifically, covering the 1970’s paneling with white paint. To each their own, I guess. But we certainly love it, and we promise that no actual solid wood beams were harmed in the process.

Counted myself lucky to see a Columbine flower on Columbine Trail, the state flower of Colorado. The Columbine Canyon trail system provides access to roughly 14 miles of interconnected hiking trails within the Columbine Campground area of the Carson National Forest. It’s a great campground, a great trail for everyone, and it’s just west of the best little mountain town in New Mexico. Visit Red River, NM

Our little cabin in Red River's Upper Valley sits on private property. It’s our home. ❤️

We love that so many people enjoy this beautiful area, but……

Please remember that private property is not a public attraction. 🛑🚫⛔️

What you see here (and also in the comments) happens far more often than you might imagine. The most surprising part? Many people actually stop and read the "No Trespassing" sign posted right beside the camera... and then continue onto and all over the property anyway. 🤦‍♀️

To reach our backyard, visitors must walk through our fenced front yard, and ignore the security cameras and their signage.

These aren't accidental wrong turns—they're intentional choices. Please. Be respectful.

If you're exploring the Upper Valley, please enjoy the public trails, admire private homes from the road, and respect property boundaries. And if you’re not sure if something is private or public or simply looks abandoned, just walk away. That simple courtesy helps preserve the peaceful mountain experience for everyone.
