Did you know? As you walk up our historic grand staircase, you'll discover a quilt and collection of historic articles honoring the Sea Wing Disaster.

This tragic Mississippi River excursion boat accident occurred near Red Wing in 1890 and remains one of the deadliest maritime disasters in Minnesota history. It's one of the many stories woven into the rich history of the St. James Hotel—inviting guests to step back in time and discover the past that shaped our community.
