What an incredible day at the Third Annual Southern Humboldt Fire Department Games + Touch-A-Truck—we’re so grateful to everyone who came out to support, cheer, and celebrate our community.

A huge thank you to the departments who showed up, competed, and brought the energy:
• Garberville Fire Protection District
• Redway Fire Protection District
• Myers Flat Volunteer Fire Department
• Briceland Volunteer Fire Department
• Phillipsville Volunteer Fire Department
• CalFire

Special recognition to Myers Flat VFD, who responded to two calls and still came back to join the Games—true dedication.

And to Phillipsville VFD, who were called out mid-event, returned, and jumped right back in—and even competed short-handed with support from other departments stepping in so they could stay in the Games. That’s what community looks like.

👏 Huge thanks to CalFire for judging alongside our community judges and helping us refine the Games—and for stepping in with a crew to round out Water Polo and Tug-o-War.

🙏 Thank you to our community judges: Jim Fulton, Dee Way, and Laura Cochrane

🤝 A big thank you to everyone at the Family Resource Center of Southern Humboldt—it was an absolute blast collaborating and bringing these two events together.

💪 Special thanks to Shawn Masterson and his son for helping with setup and tear down—we couldn’t have done it without you.

🛠️ Thank you to Dazey’s Building Center for loaning us the water troughs, and to Just Rent It for providing the lifts.
