Today, we’re taking a moment to recognize a piece of Rehoboth history connected to this property. Before it became The Waypoint, this location was once known as The Malloy’s Motel. The Malloy family’s story is part of the larger history of Black residents, workers, business owners, and families who helped shape Rehoboth Beach through hospitality, community, and resilience. On Juneteenth, we honor the history that came before us — including the people and places whose stories deserve to be remembered, shared, and respected.
