Minnesota DNR's new electronic licensing system launches June 9! 📆

The DNR is rolling out a modern licensing system replacement that is built for today's customers and technology. Phase one of the launch in June will include the hunting and fishing modules. 🤳

The new system offers more flexibility than ever — three ways to buy a license (mobile app, online, or in-person from a license agent) and three ways to carry it (paper, PDF, or stored in the app). 📱

As part of this transition, hunting and fishing licenses will be temporarily unavailable for purchase between June 2 - 8 as we switch over to the new system. During that time, people may fish without a license in Minnesota. All regulations for the season and bag limits will remain in effect. On June 9, fishing licenses will again be required and you will be able to purchase them through the new system. 🎣

Turkey hunters need to register their harvest before end of day (11:59 pm) June 1. They will be unable to register their harvest during the transition/cutover period. 🦃

For now, nothing changes for those needing to register or title recreational vehicles and watercraft. That module of the new system will launch at a later date. 🚤

Our Fishing Hole Cabin just opened up on short notice for the week of June 20-27!

This 2 bedroom cabin is one of our most popular with a great location next to the playground with a view of the lake from the deck. One bedroom has a queen bed, the other bedroom has a full over full bunkbed. There’s also a sleeper sofa in the living room.

The fish are biting on Big Boy Lake 🎣

This crew was just here on their annual guys early season fishing trip and are the first photos to go up on our 2026 Fishing Wall of Fame! Mike caught a 30 inch northern and an 18 inch bass. Last year Ben (who is also part of this group) had earned a spot on the 2025 Fishing Wall of Fame which stuck all season so resulted in a free sweatshirt when he arrived this year! We shall see if Mike's catches last all year or if someone else comes along with a bigger fish to take his spot on the wall. Last year the bass winners were 19" and 20" so he's got a good chance!

Early-season fishing has begun🎣

The weather hasn't been as ideal as we'd like, it's been fairly windy though we've still heard from our guests, seasonals, and neighbors on the lake who have been able to reel in some nice walleye, crappies, and northern despite the wind.

Our Fishing Hole cabin is a 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom with an open concept living room, kitchen, and dining room that has awesome lakeviews. There’s a queen bed in one bedroom, a full over full bunkbed in the second bedroom, plus a pull out couch in the living room. With a deck that faces both the playground and the lake this cabin is a great spot for families with little kids! This is one of our year round cabins and it fills quickly as it’s one of the most popular!
