The exact same date as 2025 ice-out.

Because they guessed correctly and were 1st to do it, our 2026 winner is Carl Rymo.

It's time for the 16th Annual Thunder Lake Lodge "Ice-Out Challenge"!

The contest will be conducted once again this year via Facebook and we invite all to participate in this event by ‘liking’ us on our page and commenting for your best guess at when you believe ice-out will occur in our big bay of Thunder Lake. Here’s how it will work:

1. In order to be eligible for the Ice-Out Challenge, you must ‘like’ us or be a ‘fan’ of our page. Feel free to share the contest and our page with any friends of family.

2. Entries will ONLY be taken on our page in this post's comment section starting today and will end at noon on Monday, March 30th.

3. You get one guess and one guess only.

4. You cannot change your answer and your first guess will be the one that takes precedent.

5. The ice will be deemed “out” when we can no longer see any floating ice from shore in our bay here at TLL.

6. The person who guesses the correct date FIRST will receive a free Thunder Lake Lodge "care package" that will include a sweatshirt of their choice.

The recent ice-out dates were as follows, with the winners of each year:
