As the 2026 camping season comes to a close, I want to take a moment to say thank you to my incredible team and all of our volunteers who helped make this season such a huge success.
From the projects, early mornings, and late nights to the fun jobs and the downright nasty ones you stand beside me, work hard, and stay until the job gets done. That means more to me than I could ever put into words.
And to all of our volunteers: I appreciate you.
It’s not about the big things or the small things it’s about all the things. The 50/50s. The decorating. Wiping down tables and chairs. Sweeping floors. Taking pictures. Sharing ideas. Helping with activities. And especially the people who simply jump in and do something because they see it needs done. Every one of those things matters.
Everything that happens at Buttercup continues to prove the slogan we created when I bought the campground “Where campers become friends and friends become family.”
As another season ends, I find myself thinking about why I bought this campground in the first place. It was an opportunity to take ideas, dreams, and passion and turn them into something real.
For me, this has never been about building something for myself. It’s about building a place where people can come to relax, smile, laugh, make memories, meet new people, and simply have a good time.
Is every day perfect? Absolutely not. There are rules, guidelines, policies, challenges, and sometimes difficult decisions. But those things are part of creating a campground that is safe, enjoyable, and welcoming for everyone.
I look forward to the years ahead with our team, campers, volunteers, community, friends, and everyone who continues to believe in what we are building here.
Buttercup will continue to grow. We’ll continue to improve. We’ll continue to dream bigger, try new things, and probably take on a few projects that make everyone wonder what we are thinking. 😂
Because while I am apparently a dreamer, I’m also a doer. But none of those dreams become reality without the people standing beside me helping make them happen and our campers.
To everyone who played a part in the 2026 season thank you! I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve built so far and even more excited about where we’re going next.
