Minocqua Chamber Announces “Dive-In” Movie on Lake Minocqua this Summer

Coming up this summer, the Let's Minocqua Visitors Bureau and Chamber of Commerce will be hosting a "dive-in" movie.

No that's not a typo, this August they'll be screening a movie on the banks of Lake Minocqua at Torpy Park. Moviegoers will be able to reserve one of 400 commemorative, take-home inner tubes on the lake, and they'll also be selling tickets for viewing by boat.

According to the announcement, the Chamber will screen the classic thriller, "The Creature from the Black Lagoon" on the 23 foot portable screen. They'll have a viewing area buoyed off in front of the screen. Ahead of the viewing, they've arranged other activities including a scream contest and an old-fashioned beach hop and dance.

The event will serve as fundraiser, with the goal to purchase the outdoor movie theater equipment future community use.

Organizers are waiting for the water to warm up a bit. The screening is scheduled for August 14. Ticket reservations are currently available through the Chamber and their website.
