About Bubastis Oasis
Bubastis Oasis is an official chartered body of Ordo Templi Orientis, U.S. Grand Lodge (aka the Caliphate; see Equinox III:10 ) operating in Dallas, Texas. body in Texas, and one of the oldest in the region. We offer a welcome environment to nurture creativity, spirituality and self-expression through the sacred rites of ritual, dramatic enactments, as well as physical and mental exercises, which are designed to facilitate the growth of the individual and assist him or her in the acquisition of Light, Wisdom, Understanding, Knowledge, and Power. This diverse body of Initiates is devoted to the establishment of a new social order through the security of individual and personal liberties, which are governed by a strict system of values and ideals. We are dedicated to growing our membership by providing a place where individuals of like mind can be together in tolerance and fraternity. We encourage our members to study Liber Al vel Legis, The Book of The Law to bring them closer to their True Wills and to the liberty of the individual. We celebrate Liber XV, The Gnostic Mass publicly on a regular basis, and also offer various other events which are open to the public. Periodically we offer classes, social functions, and rituals celebrating the Thelemic holidays for the public to enjoy along-side our members. Bubastis Oasis is located at in the Fort Worh-Dallas Meteoplex. If you are interested in attending an event, please do not hesitate to contact someone through the contact page of this site. We hope that it is your will to visit us, and share in the fraternity here at Bubastis Oasis. We have a great family here, and are always happy to see new faces.

93 Ya'll!
Deputy Master reporting here with a temple space update.

Our historic bookshelves are getting a much needed face-lift! 🙌

I had a hard time seeing our old shelves with scratches and paint splatters and yellowing varnish in our beautiful new space and decided to give myself some extra work before members move in with the uhaul this weekend.

And after hours of elbow grease applying varnish and paint st****er, scraping, sanding, and staining they are going to look better than new.

Fun fact, our storage space didn't have room for them however we were unwilling to let the sentimental shelves go to the burn pile. After a brief conversation in our almost empty Richardson Location, members unscrewed the shelves (using pliers and hammering out many of the stripped or broken screws) so that two of our members could store them at their home.

And where in their home did they spend that 15 months in pieces?

Under their marital bed 👀

While that was certainly a way to keep the energy alive, the practical reason was they didn't have a garage or shed as an alternative.

So to say these book shelves are well loved is an understatement. 😆

If you would like to contribute to the work we do here and the labor of furnishing and finishing our new space, you can donate through these two methods:

If you would like to donate a book for our library we have a wish list you can order and have them shipped to us through here:

Of course stopping by to say hello in person or just hanging out on our social media pages and discord channel is the way you can support us the most!

Thank you guys for following and encouraging us to do what we do.

From the Office of the Deputy of Bubastis Oasis,

Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law.

Introducing the new location for Bubastis Oasis! Tucked in the serene North Eastern edge of the sprawling DFW metroplex in Denison Tx.

After over a year of scouring the dregs of the internet I found this little gem on facebook marketplace. This building checks off all of our boxes and more than we could've ever imagined. We are ADA compliant in a stand alone building. Separate Mass and lounge area with a TV, full kitchen, two bathrooms, a front and back door, spacious storage closet, ceiling fans, coffee/wine bar, and room for herb gardens. Not to mention the acoustics are fantastic 🕉

We will begin moving in this weekend, and look forward to breaking it in with a Mass asap!

Thank you to our members for the support when times were tough and resilience when those tough times stretched on. Your faith in Bubastis and support of the Oasis is why its a joy to do what I do as an officer.

Love is the law, love under will.

Fraternally,
Deputy Master of Bubastis Oasis

From the Office of the Deputy Master of Bubastis Oasis;

Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law.

I would like to thank our sister body Sekhet Bast Ra Oasis Ordo Templi Orientis for another fantastic co-Oasis members event!

Our second annual Ritual Camping Retreat is something that, as much as we all looked forward to, managed to exceeded our expectations. Leaving a three day ritual, hiking and late night campfire side lecture weekend shouldve left us all exhausted, but I felt emotionally full and more motivated than ever.

Each local OTO body varies in what they offer and do to some degree. I feel grateful that I happened to live near Bubastis for my introduction to the Order, AND that the other closest local body happens to be just as amazing.

Ever since joining I was encouraged by the Officers that even though I was just a Minerval, this body was also mine to help make it into what we all wanted it to be. Any spark of an idea i had was given kindling and the confidence i gained from that kind of support has only served to empower me in all other areas of my life.

With Gnostic Masses and Initiations at the core, we have plenty of other events from study groups and classes, to automatic writing and art, to movie nights and ghost hunting investigations and Thelemic trivia and game nights.

Basically we *like* each other. I feel so fortunate that I had happened to meet so many awesome people through a place most people assume to be full of "evil, devil worshippers" 🙄.

And its definitely in part a "birds of a feather" phenomena. Thanks to the amazing leadership that preceded me, they set the tone for the culture of this (and SBR's) local body to make it a place each individual has the encouragement to learn who they are and empowered to do it on purpose.

Im sharing what photos I can- it was a private event and I personally like my privacy- but I do want to share a piece of what we do behind the scenes. Even though we open many awesome events up to the public, there are many more perks to membership to Bubastis Oasis and Sekhet-Bast-Ra Oasis.

So thank you again to everyone who attended. To those that couldn't come- we missed you. And to those who would like to pursue membership to either of our bodies we welcome you to stop by and see what we are all about!

I have a very exciting announcement coming on behalf of Bubastis with another (perhaps) long letter from my office. So stay tuned.

Love is the law, love under will.

Fraternally,
Deputy Master of Bubastis Oasis
Soror Alison

A lot of people getting into Thelema, will undoubtedly have strong opinions about Crowley the person.

Hes probably the best example of "death of the artist" I can think of. Don't let your admiration of him or annoyance of him influence what you think of the work itself and how you personally should go about doing it.

Take what he says at face value and experiment for yourself and keep an open mind and a magickal record close at hand.

If you hate him, examine why. If you admire him explain why. What does your opinion of this polarizing figure say about your opinion of yourself and how you want or dont want to live your life.
