A special evening celebrating art, community and 90 years of Eleanor Rufty. 💗🎨

Earlier this month, we gathered at Quirk Gallery for an artist talk with Eleanor, surrounded by her exhibition, “Sometimes, In Rooms…” and the people who have followed and celebrated her work throughout the years.

And because an ordinary birthday card simply wouldn’t do, local artists created surprise birthday banners in honor of Eleanor’s 90th. ✨

If you haven’t experienced “Sometimes, In Rooms…” yet, this is your last chance. The exhibition is on view at Quirk Gallery through September 26.

Step inside Room 615, featuring the work of Richmond-born artist Kathleen Markowitz.

Known for her bold use of color and expressive brushstrokes, Markowitz creates paintings filled with movement, energy and layers that reveal the history of their making. Her work explores art much like life itself: an ever-changing process of renewal, discovery and becoming.

It’s one of the many ways art finds its way beyond the Gallery walls and into your experience at Quirk.

Want to see more? Kathleen Markowitz’s upcoming exhibition will be on view October 1 through November 14 inside Quirk Gallery.

With Pink Ball just two weeks away, it's time to start thanking our sponsors!

We are beyond excited to have Archive House back in the building. Taylor is known for her wedding and special event photography, but we're especially fond the shoot she did in the Lobby Bar in 2024.
