Hotel Mac Restaurant Built in 1911 as The Colonial Hotel by Kate Riordan a 21yo Irish immigrant. Sold in the 1930's to JV McAfee who changed the name to The Hotel Mac. M.V.

Restored in 1978 after a fire in 1971. Currently offering lodging & fine Italian fare in the Restaurant. The three-story brick Hotel Mac was originally built in 1911 by Kate Riordan, a young female Irish immigrant. It was then called it the Colonial Hotel. MacAfee, the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel manager moved to California where he managed the Claremont Hotel in Berkeley. In 1930, he purchased the Colo

nial Hotel and changed the name to the Hotel Mac. It was called “one of the exceptional dining establishments in the country,” by Duncan Hines. owner’s goal is to preserve and enhance the Point Richmond Landmark that Kate Riordan established over 100 years ago. The owner and staff are confident you will find the Hotel Mac as beautiful and exciting as they do. Reserve our Wine Cellar (up to 10) for small affairs or book whole restaurant for private parties. Facilities include up to 100 people banquet room for special events, such as weddings, anniversaries, graduations or businesses luncheons.
