Illustrator and author Rosalie Haizlett Illustration is teaching the "Painting Bog Plants in Ink & Watercolor" workshop at Cranberry Mountain Nature Center on September 5th from 10am-12pm. Below is the signup info, in case you or anyone you know would like to join!

Painting Bog Plants in Ink & Watercolor:

Welcome to the beautifully bizarre world of pitcher plants, sundew, and rare orchids! In this relaxing, beginner-friendly workshop, we'll take a closer look at a variety of bog plants as we learn to draw and paint them from reference photos. Skills gained include sketching proportionally, ink line drawing techniques, mixing watercolor paints, and achieving contrast and vibrancy using layers. Ages 10+ with adult, 15 person capacity. All supplies included. Participants can call the Cranberry Mountain Nature Center at 304-653-4826 during business hours (Thursday-Monday, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.) to reserve a space. This is a donation-based class.

A few weeks ago we were able to go visit the native orchid blooms at the Cranberry Glades. It was pure magic.
