Yesterday, the Polk County Sheriff's Office announced that 228 arrests were made in a multi-agency operation spanning across Florida and 11 other states. Shockingly, those arrested included teachers, coaches, medical professionals, and even active military members ranging from age 16 to 73 years old. Thirteen potential victims were rescued during the 8-day undercover human trafficking investigation.
"This is a new record number of arrests during an investigation of this kind," Sheriff Grady Judd reported in a statement.
Anyone can be a human trafficker. We applaud Polk County authorities and the other agencies involved for their critical work. Share this post to help raise awareness today.
