Ancient Grove of Bald Cypress trees and the tallest Cypress knees you've ever seen! Just a short paddle upstream from the river house. These large trees could be over 2,000 years old.

Wanted to share this special bald cypress grove on the Edisto River just upstream from the Edisto River Lodge. You can kayak here easily when the waters low. It's hard to tell the age of a bald cypress without a core sample but these could be as old as 2000 years. What's really impressive is the massive cypress knees almost 13ft tall.

Spring is in the air on the Edisto River, accepting bookings this spring and summer for the beautiful river house. Every stay includes the use of kayaks and canoes, and you're welcome to bring your own boat and dock it on the river.

Six months of hard work almost complete. The cottage is coming along nicely with the addition of this 600sqft screened porch. Usable in the summer and winters with glass windows and operational louvers below for air flow. Two more porches and a bathroom to go.
