Ivy's Haven Anyone that's owned an old house knows the story!

What started as "let's just replace the kitchen cabinets" snowballed into "let's just take out the shower stall and make room for the laundry" and "maybe we can extend the countertop this way....".

Not the professional photos! Although everything looks like it's finished and ready to go online we're not quite there. Yesterday I took a moment to sit back and look at everything we've done and it feels good to have accomplished so much. What's left? Closet organization, back deck upgrades, wall touch ups, some wood clear coating, miscellaneous small stuff, and on the business side of things, our online presence. Then it's just getting people here. :)

The House Layout

First Floor:
Living Room, Kitchen, Full Bath, Laundry, Queen Bedroom with Half Bath. Kitchen and Queen Bedroom have sliding glass doors that open to the lower back deck.

Second Floor:
King Bedroom at the front and Master Bedroom and Full Bath at the back. The Master Bedroom has a private deck, TV, and seating area.

We are a few steps closer to being officially open for business! The windows were cleaned this week by Window Whisper in Woodstock (highly recommend their service!) and a photographer will be out in a few days as well. My iPhone can only do so much.... :)

Vanity upgraded - twice! I bought this vanity on Marketplace for the master bath. It was all black but it was definitely in need of a paint job - and I wanted a different color. The sink and top were in fairly good condition but I noticed over a couple of months of use there were areas in the sink that were not coming clean and the finish was gone. Instead of just replacing the sink we decided on making a custom top made from the some of the flooring we had left over, and then added the matte black sink to match the rest of the fixtures. I love this so much more than the white!

Oh and the three hooks that are sitting on the countertop? I've beeen looking for those. I have no idea where they ended up. So I bought three more...

Our second group of friends to stay at Ivy’s Haven have come and gone. It was a whirlwind week and we are so thankful we have this comfortable space for visitors!

We are a few steps closer to getting Ivy’s Haven up and officially running, as our guests took it upon themselves to finish a few projects on our To Do List!

Today we are truly grateful for our friends, our family, our friends that we call family, and this wonderful country we call home.
