🇺🇸 Today, the flag at Clearwater Ranch flies at half-staff.
When we heard the news of Dolly Parton’s passing and the President’s order to lower flags in her honor, there was no question what we would do here at the Ranch.
Dolly was country music, but she was also so much more.
From humble beginnings in the mountains of Tennessee, she became an American icon without ever forgetting where she came from. She gave us songs that became part of our lives, put millions of books into the hands of children, and showed the world that success and kindness can go hand in hand.
Around here, we believe in working hard, taking care of people, staying true to where you came from, and leaving things a little better than you found them.
Dolly seemed to understand all of that pretty well.
So today, beneath a Texas sky, Old Glory flies a little lower at Clearwater Ranch for one of the greatest country artists to ever do it and, more importantly, one of the finest examples of using your life to do some good.
Rest easy, Dolly. 🤍
