On Sunday September 22nd the Town of Riverside installed the last of the three repainted and
repaired signs welcoming people to our town. Today, Friday the 27th we discovered that someone stole
our Turkey Crossing sign off the Riverside sign on the north side of town on Highway 230. Someone of
less than stellar breeding decided they needed that sign more than the Town of Riverside. They used a
battery operated Sawzall and just cut through the 2X4s holding the sign in place. Leroy will pay $100
reward for information leading to the return of the sign or the person that stole it could just drop it off
at Lazy Acres campground with no questions asked. Not quite sure what anyone would do with such a
sign but I would be interested in finding out what their motive might have been.

RETIRED!!

Lazy Acres Campground in Riverside, Wyoming closes September 30, 2024. We will not be opening next year, as we are retiring but not selling the campground, so it will just be closed and we will be enjoying all that summers have to bring. We've had a wonderful 17 years and enjoyed meeting the many hikers, bikers and campers from all over the world. We wish you all a great future!

From Carbon Light: ‘The power outage affecting the Platte Valley is due to a power supplier outage. Crews are currently patrolling the line to find and fix the problem. No eta yet on a time of restoration.
We will post further updates when we have more information.’
Also you may or may not have felt a 3.4 earthquake last night around 11:30! Add to that we had no water in the campground on Wednesday for a couple of hours and I’d say it’s been a hell of a week!!
