The RRM is a collaborative of voices, all echoing the same; community pride, safety, growth, and being involved. The Movement recognizes that we as a community can facilitate positive change. We have been warmly and openly accept

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our beloved member, Patricia Rebollo - also known as Mrs. Riverside.

As we reflect on Pat’s life, we are overwhelmed by memories of her kindness, compassion, larger-than-life personality, and unwavering love for this community. Pat had a way of making everyone feel seen, welcomed, and valued. Whether through her laughter, her gift for conversation, or her quiet acts of service, she showed up fully and wholeheartedly for Riverside and its people.

There will now be an unmistakable absence at our meetings, the familiar spot where Pat would sit, offering encouragement, wisdom, and humor. While no one can ever fill her seat, her presence and impact will forever fill our hearts.

Pat believed deeply in community, service, and doing what’s right. Not for recognition, but because it mattered. She lived by simple but powerful words that guided her life: “Be good. Do good.”

In her honor, we commit to carrying forward the work she cared so deeply about: loving our neighbors, showing up for one another, and continuing to build a Riverside rooted in compassion and connection. That will be her legacy.

Pat’s family established a GoFundMe shortly before her passing. If you are able, we encourage you to contribute and share as a way to honor Pat and the love she gave so freely to all of us.

**Riverside Tree Lighting Brings Community Together**

The Riverside Renaissance Movement held its annual Tree Lighting Event in Riverside Square on December 7, and this year’s celebration was nothing short of a success. Hundreds of community members gathered to decorate ornaments, enjoy caroling, and join Santa in counting down to the lighting of the tree, creating a warm and festive start to the holiday season.

The event would not have been possible without the dedication of our volunteers, the generosity of our sponsors, and the many community members who made donations to support the celebration. We are especially grateful for the incredible support of the City of East Providence, particularly the Department of Public Works, whose team helped string the lights, hang the banners, and prepare the site for the event. We also thank Mayor Robert DaSilva and the East Providence City Council for their support and participation, as well as the East Providence Police Department for helping keep the event safe for everyone.

We are proud to recognize this year’s event sponsors: Borealis Coffee; Calm Currents Counseling; Fred’s Service Center; H&M Income Tax Preparation; Jeff’s Garage; On Target Organic Mosquito Control; Rhode’s Family Pizza; Riverside Automotive; Stevie D’s Riverside Tavern; Swad Restaurant; and The Ward 4 Committee.

We would also like to extend special thanks to Melissa Linhares, Andy Leddy, Chrissy Rossi, Voices of Christmas, the Riverside Congregational Church, and even a surprise visit from “The Grinch” for helping make the evening so memorable.

Thank you to everyone who came out, and especially to all the kids who made our tree look so fantastic this year.

Anyone interested in joining the Riverside Renaissance Movement or learning more is invited to attend our next meeting at 6:00 PM on Monday, February 2, at the Riverside Congregational Church Community Room (15 Oak Avenue, Riverside).
