The park will host the annual synchronous firefly viewing opportunity at Elkmont from Monday, June 3 through Monday, June 10.

The public may apply for the limited viewing opportunity by entering a lottery for a vehicle reservation through www.recreation.gov. The lottery opens for reservation applications on Friday, April 26 at 10 a.m. EDT and closes Monday, April 29 at 11:59 p.m. EDT.

Humbled and honored to host the family of officer Tyee Browne at Humble Roots Rest this month. He made the ultimate sacrifice protecting and serving the public, hosting a weekend on us is the least we can do for the family. God bless his memory!

Deputy Sheriff Tyee Browne was shot and killed at about 3:40 am after stopping a stolen vehicle in the 1300 block of Highway 280 in Cordele.
