About us
We want to share with you why Sweetwater Sights is special to us, and sets us apart from other RV parks. Years ago after getting married we had a dream to one day open a campground. We had our eye on a piece of property for years ,many would have thought we were crazy as this land was basically a swamp divided by a creek with tons of overgrowth. We had our son at the time who was 3 and
loved being outdoors so we became more passionate about the idea of opening a campground and allowing him to help us over the years. So in 2019 we approached the land owners of the property we had our eyes on and they agreed to sell! which slowed us down to a screeching halt, as it was hard to buy or find materials as well as hard to hire laborers. We started developing the property ourselves all the way from cutting down all the weeds and overgrowth to putting in irrigation piping to dry out the property. All the while our son was right there with us in his overalls and Muck boots! It has been a 5 year process and a lot of ups and downs, victories and obstacles but we are so thankful to call this little campground ours! Now we have two little boys who we look forward to seeing grow up enjoying helping make sure our guests enjoy their stay. So in a nutshell we are a small family owned and built campground nestled in the mountains of Robbinsville, NC. Onsite we have an ADA accessible bathhouse, full hookup RV sites, we are BIG RIG friendly, our sites are equipped with Picnic tables and fire rings, we do have Wi-fi and Rental cabins with ADA accessibility. We have a playground for children ( COMING SOON) and we plan to add fun activities such as disc golf and a basketball court very soon . The property has a creek ( NC trout stream) running through the middle and beautiful mountain views, while also having quick access to the town of Robbinsville within a few miles. We are also within miles to an Appalachian Trail head as well as other hiking and nature trails ( Joyce Kilmer, yellow creek falls, middle falls). We are also within 15 minutes to beautiful lake Santeetlah which has been voted as one of the most beautiful lakes in America the last few years! Our creek is an NC trout stream , but we also have many areas nearby for trout fishing. Lastly our area is known for its close vicinity to the famous "Tail of the dragon" ( we do not own this trademark) which iis US Highway 129- a road loved by sports cars and motorcyclists due to having 318 curves in just 11 miles.
