10/08/2025
As Heritage Day 2025 has come to an end, we would like to take a few minutes to give a recap and humbly express our many thank you's to everyone that got a chance to come and spend the day with us. The Lord sure did supply us the most beautiful day imaginable! With the ringing of the church bell, the day began with an early morning service in the chapel, with Kyle Grissom sharing the gospel, along with Trent Kell and Friends bringing the beautiful gospel music. The vintage cars, trucks and even tractors, made their way through the roads and lined the lakes, chapel and filling station all day long. We were entertained on the main stage by Clearview and their old-time traditional Bluegrass Music. I saw many little ones and young at heart showing their dancing skills, tapping their feet, or clapping their hands to the sounds of the guitar, banjo, mandolin, fiddle, bass and the old-time songs as it filled the mountain air. The ladies and gentlemen of the Tennessee Muleskinners and their beautiful teams of mules were non-stop all day long, loading up eager folks to take a ride around Hard Times. We thank them for always sharing this way of life with so many. We are so grateful to the many volunteers and the behind-the-scenes people that make this day happen, the many hours spent in preparation and then when it is finished, all of the time spent tearing it all back down. We love seeing old friends and new that shared their stories from the past events to the present, sharing in the laughter and memories. We were happy to have some newcomers that came to share in their crafts this year and disheartened that some of the old-timers that, due to unforeseen circumstances, didn't get to make it this year. Our hearts go out to the ones that had been a part of Heritage Day from the very beginning, that we have lost and are no longer with us. We pray for comfort for their families and find peace in hearing the many stories shared of their times of happiness, friendships, and laughter. And most of all, Thank You Jimmy Yates, for bringing everyone together to celebrate our heritage and nostalgia of the day!
