Flat Shoals

Flat Shoals Flat Shoals is a 17-acre private campsite on the banks of the Collins River, near beautiful Rock Island State Park. Get off the grid!

Our goal at Flat Shoals is to create a clean and comfortable camping and event space, with as little impact on the land as possible. Minutes from Rock Island State Park, the densely wooded, riverfront property is perfect for swimming, kayaking, fishing, and bird-watching. The property features rustic campsites with tent platforms, firepits, picnic tables, a bathhouse with two toilets and two hot s

howers, and a small dock. There's no electricity on the property and limited cell phone service -- we strongly encourage guests to turn off their electronics and enjoy the beauty and seclusion of the land! The 17 acres that make up Flat Shoals stretch lengthwise from a scenic country road to the banks of the Collins River, which feeds into the larger Caney Fork River. Because the Collins sits above a dam, it's slow-flowing and clear. Guests are welcome to relax on the dock and enjoy the firepit, picnic table and rope swing; and may swim at their own risk. We also welcome small vessels such as kayaks and canoes, but there is no boat dock or access at the river.
