Lamorna Cottage Mid-coast Maine rental property. Lamorna Cottage is an 1880′s farmhouse located in beautiful Rockland, Maine. Lamorna is a work in progress.

A short walk to downtown and the town beach, it’s perfectly suited for a stress-free visit. It sits on a quiet street, the only sound being the sometime train whistle pulling into the nearby station. Steven will be taking on most of the construction work, while the kids and I will help with the demo, painting, landscaping and community relations. We hope to be available for rental Summer 2014. The

name Lamorna was the name of my great-great-grandmother’s house (my mom Frances’ great granny). Her name was Mary Barnes and she lived in Birtley, New Castle, England. Mary named her house after the town she was from, Lamorna, which is in Cornwall. Frances has lovely memories of Lamorna’s picket fence and garden with neat things growing, a huge cozy fireplace, and the warm love of her Nana. Lamorna is named in memory of Mary and her loving home.

Lobstermen band together to share their catch & more for Christmas!

For the 11th year in a row, lobsterman Noah Ames of Rockland along with fellow fishermen Travis Thompson, Tad Miller, Corey Thompson, Josh Harjula, Travis Doughty, Jace Doughty & Peter Grant will be giving away free lobsters to families in need on Christmas Eve. The fishermen will be at the Lowes parking lot in Thomaston on December 24th beginning at 12PM with lobsters, toys for children, & gift cards to help those struggling during the holidays.
"If you are in need this holiday season, or if you know someone in need, please stop by. If you are a fisherman and want to participate in this effort, please reach out to me (on FaceBook: https://www.facebook.com/noah.ames.5) & join us. I started doing this 11 years ago and continue each year to show my kids that Christmas is about giving," Ames said.

*Please note-this is a small Maine based operation offering in person pick up at this location in Thomaston, Maine only. Delivery and shipping is not available.
