This is a really amazing 300 sq ft apartment. Yes - 300 sq ft. There are a couple of things that I would quibble with of course, but it's really well done. Note how some things just seem to be taken for granted - like the hydraulic lifts for the bed frame.

But start at the entrance to the building. For sure, things were different 120 years ago, but can you imagine trying to pitch such an entrance and courtyard to a developer today?

Shortly after I moved to Maine in 1989, I got a job working for John Morris, and spent the next two years there. The staff was a fun cast of characters, and we produced a lot of work while having a good time. Sadly, two of those colleagues have passed, and now Morris himself has. RIP

Almost every residential project I have had recently has had some sort of kitchen remodeling. So this survey I found of interest, not least of which it seems that three-quarters of the respondents do not currently have a range hood.

This seems really bizarre to me, even though the result of my own recent kitchen remodel means that for the first time our 120-plus year old house has a:

Range hood
Dishwasher
Garbage disposal
