For an easy hike with an incredible payoff, head to the Beech Hill Preserve. A gentle, mile-long trail leads you through organic blueberry fields to the summit. At the top sits Beech Nut, a historic stone hut, offering panoramic, 360-degree views of Penobscot Bay and the surrounding hills.

Summit Trail: Beech Hill Road. Woods Trail: Rockville Street. The Summit Trail offers views of the Bay and mountains. Beech Nut, built in 1914, is a stone hut on top of the hill. The preserve is managed for bird habitat and organic blueberries.

Maine really does deserve its own box of crayons, because regular colors are nowhere near prepared for the emotional experience of living in the Pine Tree State. 😭🌲🦞
You need Coastal Fog Grey for mornings where the ocean completely disappears, L.L. Bean Boot Tan for the unofficial state uniform, Moose at Midnight Brown for the exact color of panic standing beside Route 201 at 11:47 PM, and Lobster Boat Red for every hardworking harbor that smells like salt air and diesel fuel. 💀
