Hello from Monarch Bed and Breakfast !
Its been a been a beautiful summer.
The Monarch Bed and Breakfast would be happy to host you when coming to Parke County In.
There are many vacation attractions to visit and do.
9 miles from Monarch Bed and Breakfast is the 7th best in the country state park- Turkey Run State Park. Where hikers will enjoy seeing sandstorm gorges, waterfalls, suspension bridge and ladders.
Parke County also has Shades State Parke and Raccoon Lake State Park with additional walking trails. All 3 parks are within 9 miles of the Monarch Bed and Breakfast.
Other popular attractions are Canoeing, kayaking and tubing down scenic Sugar Creek
that wonders thru Turkey Run State Park.
Parke County is noted as the Covered Bridge Capitol of the World, with 31 historic bridges. Tourist can enjoy walking and driving over the scenic bridges.
Parke County has Britton Winery for visitors to visit.
36 Saloon offers indoor and outdoor dinning with live music on the weekends , a roadhouse setting.
Rockville has antiques, boutiques and unique stores.
The scenic country roads are popular for bicycle enthusiast.

It is amazing how fast this year is going. The festival was wonderful, meeting new people making new friends.
We only have 6 rooms available for 2023 Covered Bridge Festival.
These past couple of weeks we had guest that brought crafts, and asked me to join wrapping pumpkins with yarn. We were up past midnight laughing and enjoying this time.
We also had some wonderful college girls from Chicago who stayed with us, they were so excited getting to see a cow. They had never seen a real cow before, not only did they see a cow they saw a small herd of cows.
We are now looking forward to

Fall has arrived. We have had a few fires in the fireplace, our guest have enjoyed. Mums have arrived along with pumpkins outside. The leaves are turning colors , looking so very beautiful. Covered Bridge Festival starts this coming Friday Oct. 14th. Seeing new faces everyday. Town getting busier, excitement is in the air. Monarch Bed and Breakfast will be having early guest, coming to see the Covered Bridges and enjoy the beauty of our County. We wish all a Wonderful Covered Bridge Festival

Here at Monarch Bed and Breakfast we host meetings and gatherings. (6-12 people) One of the groups we host is a Bible study group. They come in the morning eat breakfast, talk about everyday events and Bible scriptures. We have also hosted wedding showers, baby showers, sorority meetings and girls night out.

We are only weeks away from the Newport Hill Climb September 30,th, October 1st, and October 2nd.

Covered Bridge Festival
We still have available 1 room Thursday October 13 the day before the festival, on that day you would be able to visit the Covered Bridges , Grist Mills, or hike the trails at one of our state parks, stay all night , eat a wonderful Country Style Breakfast, then be one of the first people at the festival on Friday.
We also have Sunday October 23rd, 3 rooms available
On Sunday you could visit the festival during the day, spend the night, wake up to smells of a Country Breakfast, then leave and see the beautiful Covered Bridges, and the beauty of our county, without any traffic.

Alumni, family reunions and weddings.
Some of our guest have been here before and we look forward to seeing them again.

August 20th there will be a Car & Truck Show at the Rockville Lake Park, there will be music and prizes.

Sept 30th , Oct. 1st. & 2nd will be the Historic Newport Hillclimb.

We visited the Bridgeton Mill this week, overlooking the Covered Bridge, waterfalls and mill, as we ate our lunch and ice cream making new memories.

Parke County has many attractions for visitors to enjoy.

Monarch Bed and Breakfast opened for business in October 2019, and is located within the historical district in a house that, was built in 1889.
We offer a front porch with swing, and a back deck to enjoy the outside, each bedroom has a queen size bed , and tv, and WIFI. We have a sitting area to visit or just relax and read a book with a fireplace. In the mornings there is a country breakfast waiting for you, perhaps some biscuits and gravy, eggs, bacon and fresh fruit.
We are walking distance to downtown Historic Rockville , to some wonderful boutiques , G & M Variety, antique shops, and the 36 Saloon a great place to eat.
Some of the things you might enjoy while visiting Parke County, would include seeing some of our 31 Covered Bridges, visiting one of our 3 state parks, Turkey Run State Park, Raccoon State Parke and Shades State Park.
Parke County offers canoeing, kayaking, swimming, hiking, tubing, biking, boating, fishing and golfing.

October the 13 th , the day before the Covered Bridge Festival , we have 3 rooms available , check in as early as 9 am and spend the day touring our 31 Covered Bridges , fall foliage, and 3 state parks , by staying here on the 13th would allow our guest to start the first day of the Bridge Festival at 9:00am and enjoy a day at the festival. We also have the last Sunday of the festival 3 rooms available in which our guest could enjoy a day at the festival, then on Monday could travel around to the Covered Bridges, and see the fall foliage.
