We actually got a call from a guest wondering why his mapping app was so off from his (correct) instinct. Now we know more 😎
🏞️ Headed to Zion National Park?
Don’t let your GPS take you on a wild detour! Some map apps are mistakenly sending travelers away from SR-9 — even dropping folks off at Kolob Canyon Road, miles from the South Entrance and Visitor Center. 😬
👉 Pro tip:
Instead of typing just “Zion National Park,” enter “Springdale, UT” or “South Entrance – Zion National Park” as your destination.
✅ Both routes will guide you correctly along SR-9 through Springdale — the most direct way to reach the main entrance and visitor services.
🗺️ Why it happens: navigation apps sometimes misread “Zion National Park” as the park boundary or another entrance, not the South Entrance you actually need.
So skip the confusion, enjoy the views, and let SR-9 lead the way! 🌄
