Labor Day Weekend at Hickory Hollow

Put work aside and come enjoy one last big summer weekend with us! We’ve packed Saturday and Sunday with plenty of campground fun — a campsite yard sale, crafts, BBQ Hunt, “Hey” Ride, snow cones, Cash Bingo, freeze pops and more.

And we’ve got two nights of entertainment! DJ Poosa gets the party started Saturday night from 7–10 PM, then on Sunday we’ll gather at the pavilion for our Annual Labor Day Picnic at 5 PM, with The Lost Years Band playing live from 5–8 PM.

Bring a covered dish for Sunday’s picnic, bring your dancing shoes for the weekend, and plan to spend some time with your Hickory Hollow camping family as we celebrate the unofficial end of summer. Sign up for the picnic at the campground office.

SO MUCH CORN!

Our Corn Roast & Harvest Celebration may not have drawn the biggest crowd of the summer, but those who came certainly gave it their best effort—because when you have 14 dozen ears of delicious fresh sweet corn, there’s really only one thing to do: EAT MORE CORN!

The “cooler corn” turned out great, the fixins bar gave everyone plenty of ways to dress it up, and our enthusiastic crew did its best to make a dent in what may have been the largest corn-to-camper ratio in Hickory Hollow history!

Earlier in the day, we kicked things off with pine cone bird feeder crafts and even managed to recruit one of our overnight camping families as volunteer corn shuckers. Now THAT is campground participation!

We wrapped up the evening with a few fun rounds of Music Bingo, plenty of laughs, and—yes—more corn. Mother nature complimented the day with a beautiful full moon over the campground.

Thanks to everyone who brought a covered dish, helped shuck, played bingo, joined the crafts, and came out to share the evening with us.

And if anyone is wondering whether we had enough corn...

Yes. Yes, we did!

Reminder for our Hickory Hollow Corn Roast & Harvest Celebration event tomorrow at 6:00 PM! We’ll have plenty of fresh, locally grown sweet corn ready to enjoy and it is GOOD! Bring along your favorite covered dish to share and we’ll take care of the corn!

And this isn’t just plain old corn. Be sure to visit our Corn Fixins Bar and build your best ear with flavored butters including garlic & herb, Parmesan & basil, black truffle and cinnamon honey—plus ranch, Mexican street corn and dill pickle seasonings, bacon bits and more.

Back-to-School Weekend is packed with fun at Hickory Hollow Campground!

Join us Saturday, August 22nd for a full day of campground activities, including the Tika-Cory-Tucker Charity Duck Race, a craft, Find a Duck Scavenger Hunt, and our Hickory Hollow “HEY” Ride.

Then at 4:00 PM, it’s time for the Hickory Hollow Campsite Hop! This progressive social event was inspired and organized by our seasonal campers and is open to ALL campers. Hop from campsite to campsite, meet some new friends, visit with old ones, and enjoy the fun along the way before wrapping up the evening at the pavilion with music and dancing!

💦 What a Wild & Wet Weekend! 💦

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who came out and made our Wet & Wild Weekend such a splash! From Cool Shade sunglasses and picture frame crafts to the Wet Hayride, kids’ water games and the epic Battle of the Barrels, there was no shortage of laughs and soaked campers!

The Foam Party was an absolute blast, our Fun Fall Sign Painting brought out everyone’s creative side, and the adults wrapped up the fun with one unforgettable Adult Pool Party!

We loved seeing kids, adults, families, and friends getting involved and having fun together. Thank you to everyone who participated and helped make this weekend such a success!
