Went to see Luminere at the Biltmore. It’s a must see! We went early to enjoy the azaleas and the gardens and at dark was when the show began! Here’s a sneak peak. This beautiful wildflower hike was less than 39 minutes from Smoky Bogeys condo! It’s just past Oconaluftee Visitor Center (a great place to see the Elk). There’s so much beauty in the Great Smoky Mountains just waiting for you to come and enjoy!

What a beautiful snowy weekend at Smoky Bogeys condo! We got about 8” of big fluffy snowflakes. It was a winter wonderland but very cold. It’s not often we get this kind of snow, so we really enjoyed it!

Whiteside Mountain… the ice wall was incredible! The ice crystals were popping out of the ground like a little frozen plants. The ice formations on our path, with the water running under the ice was mesmerizing to watch. The views at the top of the mountain were so beautiful, and the last video was the mountain and the sunset, breathtaking! What a great day for this hike, despite the cold.

The 2025 National Gingerbread House Competition at Omni Grove Park Inn was so amazing!
There were 235 entries representing 25 states across the country.
At least 75% of the entry must be made out of gingerbread and
100% of the entry must be edible except for the base. They had 5 categories from “Child” through “Adult”.

Winter Lights at the North Carolina Arboretum! Wow, what a beautiful display of Christmas! The Trolls were pretty awesome too, the detail was incredible! This will be here until early January, a must see if you are in the area!

Dillsboro Lights and Luminaries last week was so much fun. Dillsboro is the perfect little Christmas town. All the shops were decorated for the season, they had horse drawn carriage rides and even the Grinch looked like he was having fun! 🎄🏔️🚂🕯️ .nc

Aurora Borealis in NC? These beautiful colors are caused when charged particles from the sun flow towards earth and get caught in our magnetic field. A severe geomagnetic storm impact of the Earth on November 11th and here are some pictures taken from the Smoky Bogeys back deck. The last picture is compliments of a friend that was higher up on the mountain. Unbelievably beautiful!
