Kiteborn Kiteborn is a cozy guest house on Hatteras Island in the Outer Banks of North Carolina.

Located in the town of Rodanthe, its a great place to stay when you want to be on the water (Sound) and a short walk to the Ocean.. A cozy guest house with rooms for rent to kiters, windsurfers, and other water enthusiasts. We have 5 rooms that are for rent on a nightly basis. 1 King Suite, 1 Queen Suite, 2 Queen Rooms, and 1 bunk room (4 twin beds, bunks, by special request only).

Kiteborn (for sale) (which will return to its original name 'Windrush by the Sound'), is almost 3000 sq ft. Its a 5 bed, 6 bath house split across 2 levels. There is room for a pool to be added, and there is room to add another story onto the house if its not big enough for you.

Well, Florence pretty much missed us... however, Michael got us on the back side. Flooding started at sunset, peaked at midnight, and was gone by 6am. The Sound got pushed all the way to the ocean dunes. We had 4’ of water at Kiteborn. Just about everyone lost their vehicles as total loses due to the height of the water. Things are pretty much fine here now. Just a different vehicle parked under the house.
