A neighbor stopped by recently and shared this incredible piece of local history: a Prairie Creek postcard from the 1960s featuring the original motel, then known as Prairie Creek Motel ✨
Seeing this postcard was a reminder that this property has been part of the Beaver Lake community for generations. Long before it became Arka, travelers, boaters, anglers, and families were making memories here.
When we renovated the property, preserving that history was important to us. While the motel received a complete transformation, we wanted to keep its mid-century roots and character alive. Our goal was to create a space that feels fresh and modern while honoring the story of the original motel and the people who have visited it over the years.
It's amazing to see how much has changed, and how much has stayed the same.
