The OAK & IVY BED & BREAKFAST at 600 North George Street in historic Rome, NY welcomes guests and visitors for a unique Bed and Breakfast experience. Housed in an 1871, 20 room Italianate brick manse, The OAK & IVY features a very European atmosphere as it

is furnished with English, French and American antiques and is surrounded by a lush English-style garden burgeoning with perennials, roses, and unusual shrubs and trees. In addition to the three well appointed guest rooms, The OAK & IVY offers afternoon teas by reservation for up to 50 people, a venue for engagement and anniversary parties, baby showers, corporate meetings, as well as artisan/craft fairs, and wine tastings featuring the wares of some of the Finger Lakes regions' choice vintners. Your host, Frederick Rice and four resident felines look forward to welcoming you to The OAK & IVY BED & BREAKFAST. We are open year round. In summer you may enjoy your breakfast on the front porch or otherwise a full breakfast is served in the walnut paneled dining room. During December, the house is transformed into a Victorian holiday wonderland with eleven decorated trees filling the public rooms with colour and light. Room rates range from $85 to &110 per night and a 20% discount is offered for government personnel.

Work continues : but we are getting closer to completion... These photos are of the WILTSHIRE SUITE where the water/leak stained ceiling is being replaced and refined. Mike and Dave have replaced all the sheet rock and Master plasterer Mike is beginning to "mud" and refine the finished ceiling...and Dave is altering what ever electrics need refining and installing hard wired smoke detectors...

The OAK & IVY is still semi-shut down due to on-going repairs [a new roof including attic timber replacement], updated heating systems, plumbing improvements, ceiling repair of two guest rooms due to roof leakage, a thorough cleaning regimen, and reworking of several roomscapes. We are still open for events and some accommodation that may include some minor inconveniences for guests. All should be put to rights by the end of September long before the Christmas season which promises many special events in December and early January 2023....We have been open now for 9 years and it was time for these renovations...

We have just enjoyed four days and nights with a delightful Canadian couple originally from Scotland and The Philippines. We have had a few "challenging" encounters with "distinctive" guests of late and these folks were the perfect guests.... 'sorry to say goodbye to them this morning....
