Second Creek Campground

Second Creek did rise significantly over night; however, at this time is it going down! We do not believe there was damage to any campers. We will continue to monitor as we expect the Greenbrier River to rise through Monday. I will be posting pictures later today in the comments.

We are thinking about all of you in southern West Virginia and praying you are safe and dry!

Don’t forget about all the holiday festivities up the road in Alderson. The Grand Parade kicks off at 10:30am today! 🇺🇸

Every year, our small town of Alderson turns red, white and blue and hosts West Virginia's BEST 4th of July Celebration. This event features everything from a Fireman's Rodeo and entertainment, to the Ducks on the River Rubber Duck Race. And, of course, a Grand Parade and a Fireworks Display!

We have a fun filled holiday weekend in store at the Campground. 🇺🇸

Wednesday, July 3: Live music by Will Sarver from 6-9 PM 🎶
Thursday, July 4: Camp Picnic Pig Roast, BYOB (bring your own bun), a side dish to share and a drink. The Campground is supplying pork and cole slaw. We will eat at 2:00 PM. 🍴
Friday, July 5: BINGO! We will play 25 games with camp themed prizes. Begins at 6PM. 🎉

Starting on Wednesday, June 10th we will allowed to welcome out of state visitors back to the campground! All previous guidelines are still in place for both WV and out of state residents. The bathhouse facilities will remain closed.

The only new guidelines that we have been given are that any out of state residents are only permitted to call for 7 days at a time.

Hey Eveyone! We will be opening for the season on May 21! There will be some changes in place in order for us to follow the Governors guidelines for reopening so please read everything.

1. The bathhouse will be closed. Please be prepared and bring your own waste water tank. The dump station will be available for your use.
2. All playgrounds and swing sets will be closed.
3. There will be no pass through or short term campaign offered.
4. At this time we are only permitted to allow WV residents on the premise in order to follow the guidelines set forth by the governors office. Once this changes we will be sure to update everyone again.

Hey everyone! We know that you’re all anxious to get this camping season underway so we wanted to provide you with an update as we navigate this Covid-19 situation.

As of now we do not have an opening date. Once the governors office gives the green light to re-open parks and recreation facilities and we are able to secure the necessary sanitation supplies needed to meet the safety standards we are given, we will set an opening date. Be sure to watch this page for that announcement.
