A Saturday at The Yarra starts small — coffee on, a light continental breakfast to ease into the morning. Then out into Roscoe for the day: trails, waterfalls, quiet forest walks, and the water that earned this place the name Trout Town USA. By evening, back to the table.

Saturday evenings in the Catskills — thoughtful food, good wine, cooked and hosted by the owners. One in the kitchen, one in the room.

It looks something like this most of the year. The trails here stay open through winter, and the kitchen follows the season, so a visit in February isn’t the visit you’d have in July.

Relaxed Saturday evenings built around thoughtful food, good wine, and an intimate setting in the Catskills.

A husband-and-wife team: one in the kitchen, one in the room. Every dish is cooked by hand in limited quantities, which is what keeps Supper Club to one night a week and a small number of guests.

On the menu at the moment: corn fritters with spicy tomato jam, green tea noodles with crisp tofu and chili crisp, braised beef cheeks with herb smash, crumbed chicken cutlets with zucchini salad. Full menu at yarrany.com.

Some news we’ve been sitting on for a little while: about a month ago, The Yarra got bigger.

We bought a building just down the road. It’s taken about eighteen months from first looking at it to closing day. It needs everything, which is partly why we love it, and slowly it will become more rooms to stay in and more space to gather.

A huge thank you to John Roynon and Travis O'Dell at Land and Water Realty for their help and perseverance.

It’s a full gut renovation, so we’re not rushing it. We’ll share the process as it happens: the demo, the decisions, the details worth keeping.

Saturday Supper Club

Saturday nights at The Yarra are the slow kind — candles on the tables, a proper drink in hand, the spring menu to choose from (slide two).

Reservations 5:30–8:30 PM. Bookings recommended; the room is small and dishes are prepared in limited quantities.

A heads up: closed Saturday, June 6 — we’ll be at a friend’s wedding.

The Yarra is newly listed on Tablet Hotels and in the MICHELIN Guide.

We started this inn for the kind of guest who slows down to find the small details — calm interiors, thoughtful materials, the river within walking distance, the Saturday Supper Club table set the way we would want to find it ourselves. We are quietly proud that two of the most considered names in hospitality have chosen to recognize them.
