JAMES DEARMOND

James DeArmond grew up in church and knew plenty about Jesus—but knowing about Christ did not keep him from spending more than a decade trapped in drugs and alcohol.

After losing his father as a teenager, James searched for acceptance and belonging in places that eventually placed him in bo***ge. His life began to change when he stopped relying on surface-level recovery and surrendered himself to Jesus Christ.

James later moved to Roscommon with his wife, Brittany, to help establish The Lion’s Den Mission Bible Training Center. Today, he serves as pastor of First Congregational Church of Roscommon, preaching the same Gospel that changed his own life.

JEREMY BEWLEY

It is easy to say that every life matters. Jeremy Bewley has built his ministry around doing something about it.

Jeremy serves as executive director of Life Choices Resource Center in West Branch, where women, men, and families facing pregnancy and parenting decisions receive compassionate care, education, practical assistance, and the love of Christ. He also pastors Covenant Family Fellowship, a home-based church community.

Jeremy brings together biblical conviction and practical compassion. His message reminds the Church that defending life means being willing to stand beside people, help carry their burdens, and show them the hope of Jesus.

JOSEPH BAYLISS

Joe Bayliss does not speak about addiction, relapse, or restoration from a distance. He has lived it.

Joe completed The Lion’s Den program, returned to his old life, and eventually found himself back at the same place needing help again. But the second time, something changed. He realized that completing a program was not the same as completely surrendering his life to Jesus.

Today, Joe serves as resident director of The Lion's Den MBTC Mission Bible Training Center, helping other men and women walk through the same battles he once faced. His story is proof that failure does not have to be the final chapter.

SCOTT MARSHALL

Scott Marshall does not preach from a life untouched by failure. He preaches as someone who knows what it means to need the grace of God.

Before becoming pastor of Northern Light Church, Scott carried a past marked by alcohol, criminal consequences, brokenness, and choices that could have defined the rest of his life. But Jesus Christ changed the direction of his story.

Today, Scott pastors in St. Helen, ministers regularly at the Roscommon County Jail, and leads a growing church committed to meeting people where they are while refusing to leave them there. His message is direct: God’s grace is freely given, but following Jesus means surrendering the whole life.

Scott is also the organizer of the Northern Light Fellowship Festival, born from a desire to bring churches, ministries, musicians, families, and hurting people together around the Gospel.

THOMAS METZ

Bambi Lake is more than a beautiful piece of property to Tom Metz. It is a place where people can step away from the noise, encounter God, and return home renewed.

Tom serves in leadership at Bambi Lake Retreat and Conference Center after years of pastoral ministry, including service at The Valley Church in Saginaw. His heart is to encourage pastors, strengthen churches, and help create opportunities for people of every age to hear the Gospel and grow closer to Christ.

CHRIS BABB

Sometimes God calls you to travel across the world. Sometimes He sends you back to the community that raised you.

Chris Babb grew up in Canton, Michigan, and later returned with a heart to reach the Plymouth-Canton area for Christ. After serving in worship, youth, and family ministry at Merriman Road Baptist Church, Chris answered the call to become the lead church planter of Creekside Church.

Chris understands the excitement, uncertainty, faith, and hard work involved in beginning something new for the Gospel. His ministry is centered on making disciples, strengthening families, and helping people discover their identity and purpose in Jesus.
