As we prepare to welcome the 2026 camping season, we’d like to take a moment to remind everyone of our firewood policy.
For the safety and preservation of our campground, we kindly ask that you only burn firewood purchased directly from Cumberland Miles Campground. Recently, we have had to address a significant cleanup at Site 81 following a transient stay where inappropriate materials—such as pallet wood and remnants of an old structure—were burned. This not only creates unnecessary work, but also poses potential safety and environmental concerns.
Additionally, a friendly reminder: storing stacks of firewood around your camper may seem convenient, but it often attracts unwanted guests who take up residence inside your camper. Piles of wood can provide ideal for roaches, rodents and snakes, which can quickly turn a relaxing stay into an uncomfortable experience. We encourage you to consider whether the small savings are worth the potential inconvenience of dealing with pests throughout the season.
Thank you for your cooperation in helping us maintain a clean, safe, and enjoyable environment for all.
