Pout and Trout Family Campground We are located in the exact geographical center of Massachusetts here in Rutland. Call us to book your site. Family Friendly. We are always adding new activities.

We have had many hikers from the Midstate Trail join us here for hot showers and to charge their electrical devices. Family Camping at Family Affordability. Open from mid April through mid October. We offer Seasonal, Weekly, and Daily rates. Sites vary from rustic tent sites to Full use sites with Water, Electric and Sewage. Large Groups are invited to utilize either of our 2 field areas. es include, but not limited to, Saturday Childrens Activity, Bingo, Cribbage, Horseshoe Tournaments, Painting Classes, Food Fairs with all the fixings. We are happy to introduce a new daily family fee of $25.00 for a day pass. This allows a family of four to come in and enjoy the inground swimming pool, your own picnic area including picnic table, grilling area, and it also includes your participation in any campwide events that may be going on that day such as the hayrides, and special themed weekends. Daily camp visits are valid from 10:00AM till 10:00PM which would also allow you to attend the entertainment shows that are usually held in the evening. Daily visitors must be checked out no later than 10:00 PM or would be considered an overnight stay and would be charged accordingly.

Pout and Trout Campground is getting ready for season 2026. We are located along the Midstate Trail and have welcomed many campers and hikers to our property. Hikers, this is a chance to take a break in a safe place, take a hot shower and charge up your devices. Come and check us out.

Good Morning campers! We just want to take the time to wish all of you a very Happy Thanksgiving. We are thankful for all of you. Life has a way bring mean sometimes but I want to remind you that we are all in this together and we are looking forward to another great season here at Pout and Trout Campground. It’s already coming quickly.
So let’s set the table for the holiday and gather your friends and family around it. Let me know what your favorite side dish will be. Mine will be my Moms homemade bread stuffing going way back for many years. Happy Holidays!

We have had the pleasure of hosting many of the hikers on the Midstate Trail and would like to say Thank you to all of you. We've met so many wonderful people. Pout and Trout Campground is right along the trail and provides hikers with a hot shower, a place to charge your devices, a nice campfire if you'd like, and some items in the general store that you many need. HEAT WARNING. First of all make sure you stay hydrated in this heat. The area is in the midst of a severe, and lengthy heatwave. One of which we haven’t seen in a very long time. Many areas are affected with blackouts, brownouts and a high demand for electricity . This is very difficult to keep up with . When people all choose to run their electricity at the same time this causes big problems for everyone. PLEASE. During this difficult time .., use a generator so as not to blow the breakers repeatedly. This won’t last long but we need everyone’s help. If there are any campers with severe medical issues we would advise going home until this heat wave is over. Thank you for your cooperation. We don’t want to be held responsible for Mother Natures wrath.

We want to remind all of our hikers that we are affiliated with the Mid State Trails, Central Mass Rail Trails, and many other hiking trails as well. Please check out the special views of ponds and marshes with access to the very old Rutland Prison Camps. We have a lot of campers come to visit the Midstate Trails and they have great stories to share with us. Some like to take advantage of a safe shelter at night along the trails where we can offer you hot showers if need be, a nice little campfire and many other small amenities. Please let us know if there are any items that you would like to see in our general store. Hikers and campers have asked for trail mix snack stuff, bottled water, hand sanitizer etc. Charge your devices. We are here to help and have had some fun stories to share with our campers.
