Update on the campground.. we still remain closed due to lots of damage on the property from the Aspen Acres Fire.As well as most of the forest and campgrounds in the area are closed as well. We are working every day with contractors and cleaners to get the place up and running. Due to the mudslides and flash floods have made it very difficult to rebuild. The roads in the campground are completely washed out as well as the Rec center had some flooding .We have fixed them a few times but due to the constant flooding we are having to monitor and adjust all drainage on the property to ensure when we do not open and have floods and we keep all of your bright smiling faces safe. Every structure on the property received massive smoke damage and roof damages and has to be professional cleaned and all materials(mattresses, carpet ect ) removed and disposed of. These are just a few of the challenges we have faced trying to get everything situated.. we ask that all of you bare with us we are working our butts off at the campground and our surrounding neighbors helping the community rebuild one day at a time ! Thanks for all the Thoughts,Prayers and good vibes - Blue and the AAC Staff

Hello family, we have the opportunity to pick up a great piece of equipment in Arizona. A Cat D4. This would help a lot on our property as well as our neighbors. However, we do not have the right trailer to hual it. We need at least as 25 gooseneck, with ramps, winch and sn**ch block, and can hold a 20k lbs D4. The D4 runs well but will not drive. If anyone has this setup or knows someone who does, please reach out to us if we can rent it. Thank you...... Also, we were able to visit the campground today. Unfortunately, Cabin 8 (Doc's Hideout) did burn to the ground. All other structures survived. All are heavy smoke damaged. The top half of our Property that is all forest has burnt as well. Thanks to the firefighters, we still have a campground! Hopefully, we can start the rebuild process.

We still do not know the status of the campground.. we went to the Custer County Meeting and spoke with Homeland Security they told us its was gone but showed us pictures of the wrong place so we are still hopeful we have something left . Now this is common in a disaster because houses dont have any markings left so they almost have to guess addresses and locations. Its a hard job for the officials to tell families they have lost everything .Our hearts go out to all effected in this tragedy.. Lots of love to our neighbors in Aspen Acres neighborhood lots of families lost their homes there officials saying 80% of the homes are completely gone there ... We are still Evacuated and dont know when if ever we will be able to return home . Everyone be patient we know Rye and Colorado City wanna get home but think of the families who can never return home.. The community needs all of you to bring positivity and compassion to every living part of it . -Blue AAC Manager

Just wanted to give some information on getting your re entry cards . We as group went yesterday the wait was very long but the Volunteers where very caring and had a bunch of information and resources to help. They made sure we had a AC area to wait brought us plenty of drinks, snacks and hot meals as well as asked us multiple time if they could help in any way .. Now with that being said .. remember these folks are Volunteers some even in the same situation you are in.. no homes,no financial support ect ... please remember that when your being a complete as****es to them. Some of you need to learn manners and not make their life harder or the other evacuees suffering as well .Not everyone has the answers to all your questions they are doing the best they can to help the 10,000 evacuees... Be the change not the problem

Shout out to the United Way for having a ton of supplies and much needed things to help all evacuees... if your in need of any items we strongly suggest you visting them for any food, clothing, cooking utensils, animals needs, pretty much anything you need to survive we have included the address below to possibly help our community more. No need for any negative comments just remember we are all in the same boat and a
little kindness and compassion goes a long way in these hard times.. - Blue AAC Manager

We would like to thank everyone for the love and support during this time. We are currently still evacuated as the is still burning around us. We do believe our campground sustained damage and we will be shut down for quite a while. We will start processing cancelations and refunds this week starting with everyone booked the day of the fire and moving forward. Please be patient as we go through this process, it may take time.

Thanks again for all those who reached out and showed love and help. A lot of you have reached out stating you will help us rebuild. We can't thank you enough. Hopefully we will be back soon to start that process as well.

We will keep everyone updated the best we can, just remember we are all evacuated and living in campers/buses/tents during this time.

We love you and we will be back!
