FIRST ALERT: With severe storms expected Tuesday, make sure you know the difference between a watch and a warning. The best way to explain the difference is to use the example of baking a cake:

A WATCH is when you have the ingredients to make a cake.

A WARNING is when the cake is ready to eat.

Take both watches and warnings seriously because when a watch is issued--the cake could already be in the oven, and as soon as the oven says ding, the cake is completed, and a warning is issued. Sometimes, there's no time for frosting.

St. Augustine Beach UPDATE +++ USACE Jacksonville has temporarily paused the start of its St. Augustine Beach renourishment project to mobilize additional equipment. Sand placement will resume in early April. The project completion date of August is not expected to be adversely affected.
