Fireworks Over the Matanzas returns Saturday, July 4, bringing patriotic music, family fun, and one of St. Augustine’s most anticipated annual traditions.

The All-Star Orchestra will perform a free concert in the Plaza de la Constitución from 6:00pm to 8:00pm, followed by a spectacular fireworks display over Matanzas Bay at 9:00pm as part of the America250 celebration.

Free Park & Ride shuttle service will be available from select Anastasia Island locations beginning at 6:00pm.

Visitors are encouraged to arrive early, plan for limited downtown parking, and be aware of temporary road closures before and after the event.

The history of St. Augustine is marked by resilience in the face of destruction. In 1586, the city was famously attacked and burned during Sir Francis Drake’s raid, leaving much of the early wooden settlement in ruins. Over time, additional raids and accidental fires caused further damage, but each time the community rebuilt and strengthened the city, shaping it into the enduring historic landmark it remains today.
